The narrative will include a girl looking back over her summer with her first love before she goes back to reality, school and normal life. She will be looking at pictures all around her room that they took together over their summer and reminiscing about the things they did together. Some of these things could include walks and picnics in the park etc.
However, towards the end the pictures will show the break down of their relationship allowing the audience to see how a relationship between two young people (16 years) progresses form beginning to end. The relationship will end and the singer is looking back trying to be 'Brave'.
Our target audience will primarily be around the teenage age and young adults,(mainly females).Through out the video we would like to portray the star image of the lead role as the 'girl next door' to help the audience to identify with the star. We will do this by showing her doing all the stereotypical things a teenage girl does such as playing in the park, which will enable us to get across her feelings and emotions through out the video and make her image more relatable and genuine, which will help sell her star image. Furthermore the narrative will emphasise her regular stereotypical character and image to help reach out and approach a wider target audience; as a traditional love story always sells. The change in the narrative will change the genre of the video making it more appealing for the younger audience.
From receiving feedback from the public on our new idea we have decided that our new idea would be a better narrative for our music video because it will appeal to a wider target audience around the age we expected and the gender, girls age 15-25. This demonstrates that we have improved our idea by directly targeting the audience we wanted. The new narrative strand met with audience approval as they could identify with it and confirmed that they would want to watch it repeatedly. They also confirmed that it helped to sell the star image of our artist more effectively and as we felt the genre is middle of the road pop and we are trying to make the artist organically synthetic by making these changes we are able to more successfully target our audience.
